I wanted to share this artist today. I adore the use of emotion, the way the figure pins you with it's gaze. Especially on this one here. And The use of animals as a reference for some of his pictures really and truly appeals to me. It's just the person I am but I love these. All the images I got from either his site or other art blogs.

There is a time lapse video of him painting this one on his website along with other lovely pieces.

Graphite, Oil, Acrylic
I adore the eyes. They feel empty like she's a shell or she is hiding some great pain or rage. I don't know. It's lovely. Also there maybe some charcoal in this one but I sorta guessed on the mats. I wasn't sure, but I do see the paints and graphite so I feel like I'm right on. Correct me if I'm wrong XD
That's it for now! Enjoy!

This week has been foul. Mostly the last half. And mostly at work. I despise working with some people. Like someone who can't show up to his freakin shift or even call in. Hell, I was sick and showed up yesterday and worked my ass off. I was sick today and showed up only to be sent home! At least they know what's going on with me. My rage is nearly spent on silly rants. Simply put, the times I hate my job the most are because of the people there. That's horrible because there are a few people I genuinely love there, but some always manage to piss me off. T.T
Also I did meet some nice girls today, so I can at least say I increased my 'acquaintance' circle. Not so antisocial, eh? I really want to talk more with one girl, her art is amazing O.O. But all and all it's been a week of being sick, stressed, and worried. Lovely.
I have been doodling more of Jeb and I's 'hero' project. And I came up with another story, I think this one is the pure adaptation of the Adi/Skif/Karira/Tremonti story for a modern 'superhero' type world. (I love superheros, give me a break). Also decided I really want to buy some sort of relaxing game in the next few weeks for at school. Something like Harvest Moon...
Just updating the world of live journal. Here's a lovely artist we studied today that I love, Thomas Dewing:

The Lute
There is just so much here. I really want to look at it all day. There could be so many stories to this painting, and I think that's why I really like his work. He is a Tonalist (or something like that) and paints with a lot of the focus on atmosphere and color. I just can't help but look at this and think of an assembly of goddesses or priests or something all gathered around. It seems so mystical.

The Garland
Again, I just love the possibilities here. He also does some lovely portrait work which is worthy of a looksie but I just wanted to post these two because I love the atmosphere and they fit my mood for the night.

Second entry in an hour! I just wanted to share some paintings. I showed Skif and Rosenfel these earlier today but I love these.

Group on Balcony, Goya, 1810
This guy's paintings are enough to give anyone nightmares. If you have time I really advise looking at some of his stuff. Horror movies could take a tip from Goya. If you look at these long enough they make your skin crawl. I just love the age, and even now these still scare me.

Olympia, Monet 1863
Typically the 'artistic nude' paintings don't interest me however I do like this one. My personal reasons are the emotions behind it. You can't see it small like this but she is actually squeezing the thigh of her right leg with her left arm. Also, she has pulled her head back from you (the viewer) as if she is slightly horrified you are there. She is a courtesan of that time (The ribbon, orchid, bangle, and shoes were all part of the uniform then). It makes you wonder what she is thinking. She is clearly unhappy with the arrival of a 'client' and is forcing herself through it. Maybe it's me but I love that you can get that sort of feeling out of this.
That's my paintings for the night! Adi, signing off.
